COMBINING A GREEN WALL WITH A STONE-EFFECT PANEL

A green wall gains depth when it plays against stone. The Óros panel provides the rocky setting that anchors the installation in a complete imagined landscape: an inhabited cliff, a planted canyon, a mineral understorey. Fitted as a frame, as a wall return or as a backdrop set between several modules, it turns a planted composition into a landscape scene. Mineral resin over a rigid core, 1.38 m² covered per panel, under 10 kg per square metre, up to 85 mm of depth.

COMPOSING WITH STONE AND PLANTING

The panel clads the areas around the installation: framing, wall returns, a dado, or a backdrop set between several modules to give the composition rhythm. Office reception, hotel lobby, restaurant, coworking space: anywhere the green wall is already a focal point, stone gives it a frame instead of leaving it floating on a painted partition. It fixes to plasterboard, concrete, timber or a clad frame.

The real question is not technical but compositional: what carries what. You can fix the planting directly onto the stone, and the panel becomes the ground of an inhabited cliff out of which the plants grow. You can instead spread the stone around the planting, as a frame or a return, and the module then reads as an opening in the rock. Or you can mix the two, alternating mineral and planted zones to create depth on two levels. Three approaches, three completely different readings of the same wall, and they are decided at the drawing stage rather than on site.

FITTING IT INTO A PLANTED PROJECT

The panel usually goes on before the green wall's mounting system, onto a clean, dry and flat substrate. Fixing is with KÓLLA adhesive, and cutting with a jigsaw to work around fixings, water feeds or lighting rails. The order of operations and the treatment of the junction are agreed with the interior landscaper at the design stage, not on site. That is when you settle the approach, where the stone stops, and how the visible edge at the module boundary is finished. For upkeep, the stone area is dusted with a vacuum and a brush attachment, or wiped with a slightly damp sponge, with no abrasive products and no solvents.

INSTALLING YOUR ÓROS PANEL: WHAT TO KNOW

Installation is within reach of a DIYer with a jigsaw and a caulking gun. The panel is glued straight onto the existing wall, with no stripping out and no building work, on plasterboard, wood, tile, concrete and painted surfaces. The substrate simply needs to be dust-free, dry and sound. KÓLLA adhesive has enough initial grab to hold the panel as soon as you press it on by hand: no props, nothing to hold in place while it cures.

For upkeep, a vacuum with a brush attachment or a slightly damp sponge is enough; avoid dry cloths and scouring pads, which catch in the texture.
